3 goals:
1. Provide mentorship and friendship for new students on the meal plan within a safe environment.
2. Provide food for upperclassmen.
3. Promote connections amongst students.
How we are going to conduct the research:
Primary research:
surveys, in person interview
Secondary research:
online research.
Business problem:
New students often have extra expirable "blocks" which are currency in the meal plan system.
These students are often in need of knowledge about campus, classes, and general campus activities. Additionally, they have infrequent communication with the upperclassmen who have the knowledge they lack. Upperclassmen, on the other hand, are often low on funds and in need of campus food.
What site does:
Connect new students on the the meal plan with upperclassmen who can provide them with mentorship, experience, and friendship.
How we arrived on agreed-upon business idea:
Through discussion on the desire to meet new people over food while also realizing financial restrictions that most people have. Additionally, since we are all on campus, we realize that there is a way to get free food from underclassmen that often have expiring "blocks" to share.
Potential competitors:
On campus trading sites
Facebook groups
target audience:
College students in two categories: those with meal plans, and those who are upperclassmen.
